Sidewalk Chalk At ONW

For our sidewalk chalk project in Ecom we were put into groups of four or five to discuss our chalk drawing. The groups then brainstormed ideas, symbols, and how they would incorporate them into the chalk drawing. After the groups had sketched out their idea they went outside, and started to draw.

For my part of our teams drawing I decided to draw a tree. I chose to draw the tree because it
represents the outdoors, this represents me because I have always liked being outside, and doing stuff like fishing. I used natural colors like brown, and green to further represent the theme of outdoors.

Our team had great teamwork, there was a lot discussion, and compromise that happened throughout the project. We each were assigned part to draw that represented us, to make sure everyone drew something, and not just one person that did all the work. Overall I think my team did a great job communicating and working together.

Vans Commercial

Production  Our commercial was for Vans, the concept that we wanted to get across was that vans are a great durable shoe that bring people together.  Our pre production went really smoothly and we got our script and storyboards all done. Production also went extremely well. It was a little interesting to film at a skate park, we had to make sure not to get in anyones way but overall it was really fun. Post production could have gone better though. Our video was turned in late and it didn't meet the 30 second requirement. That is definitely something to improve on. I think we did a pretty good job on all the five guarantees except communication and project management. I would like to see things turned in on time for my next project, and to have better communication between editor and cinematographer.  Role   For this commercial I took on the production role of cinematographer. This was one of my goals I set last year: I wanted get more familiar with the cam...

2020 Film Reel

My film reel is meant to portray teen life, adventure, and a little bit of conflict. I feel that this reel mainly showcases cinematography, and editing, and lighting. I used beat sink on some of the shots but not all so it didn't become predictable and boring. I also had some actions happen to the beat of the song. When ending my film reel I chose a really bright outside shot full of warm colors, I chose to do so because it ends the reel on a positive note. I also only choose shots that were really cinematic to include in my film reel. Thats probably why my reel was shorter than a minute, but I plan to add a lot more work after the completion of my music video. I used three works in this film reel: Perfect Putty,  Levis Commercial, and Wimp. For the most part transitions between these pieces worked pretty well, but there are a few jarring cuts because of drastic lighting changes. One thing I would like to change next time I update my reel is the music, its spliced together in som...

Graphic Final

Infographic We are currently working on an infographic project in graphic design. I chose to do my infographic over Destin, Florida. We started off by sketching our infographics and graphics. This was a little challenging for me since I am awful at drawing. After sketching everything out we made color swatches in Illustrator. We then started working on creating our graphics in illustrator. We used several tools such as the pen tool to trace images. Mrs Beaudoin gave me many tips to perfect the pen tool and work efficiently with it. So far I have only finished my graphics which took about three weeks including all the planning and sketching, but I think they have turned out pretty well. Overall I think this is a very good project to get us more comfortable with illustrator. Collage      For this project we had to take a bunch of images and blend them together to make a collage. I chose to use some picture I took while in South Dakota. I learned how to use he erase...
