Photoshop Challenge

Nature Man  When I got the image of the man I immediately got the idea to stick to a theme of some sort. So theme I chose was Los Angeles. From the beginning I wanted to put some sort of sunset on the mans jacket. So I used a layer mask to take an image of a sunset in LA and put it on to his jacket. I also chose the lighten blending mode so I could still see some texture from his jacket. Then I chose an arial view of LA as the background. I had to create a layer mask of the man in order to make this my background. I also chose to turn the brightness/contrast up on this layer. Then to finish it off I put clip art of  the word Los Angeles behind the mans head. In my opinion it turned out very well, and I am looking forward to learning more photoshop tools to create more complex pieces.

Photoshop Lessons

Overview For this project we had to watch several photoshop tutorials on how to use various tools. Some of these tools include   Content Aware Fill, Patch Tool, Clone Stamp Tool, Healing Brush Tool, and Spot Healing Brush. I thought these tutorials were a great way to get us used to a   unfamiliar software. Content Aware Fill Content aware fill allows you to remove small blemishes and unwanted objects. It works best on a simple background that doesn't have a lot of different patterns. In this photo I removed several small blemishes on the brick wall.  Patch Tool The patch tool enables you to select large areas of an image and swap it out with a color, pattern, or texture from another spot on your image. This is useful when you have larger spots or blemishes that content aware fill cant remove. In this image I removed an unwanted graphic from the blue shirt.
