Photoshop Lessons

Overview

For this project we had to watch several photoshop tutorials on how to use various tools. Some of these tools include Content Aware Fill, Patch Tool, Clone Stamp Tool, Healing Brush Tool, and Spot Healing Brush. I thought these tutorials were a great way to get us used to a unfamiliar software.

Content Aware Fill

Content aware fill allows you to remove small blemishes and unwanted objects. It works best on a simple background that doesn't have a lot of different patterns. In this photo I removed several small blemishes on the brick wall.

Patch Tool

The patch tool enables you to select large areas of an image and swap it out with a color, pattern, or texture from another spot on your image. This is useful when you have larger spots or blemishes that content aware fill cant remove. In this image I removed an unwanted graphic from the blue shirt.

Clone Stamp Tool

The Clone Stamp Tool is used to copy small sections of an image then drop it somewhere else on your image. This can be useful when you remove something and you need to fill in the area with a color or pattern found somewhere else on the image. In this photo I removed a tag on her sleeve and continued the sleeve pattern up her arm with the clone stamp tool.

Healing Brush/ Spot Healing Brush

The Healing Brush can be used to select an area then blend it with the rest of the image. The Spot Healing Brush can be used to remove small blemishes. I used the Spot Healing Brush on this boys face to remove dirt speckles.

2020 Film Reel

My film reel is meant to portray teen life, adventure, and a little bit of conflict. I feel that this reel mainly showcases cinematography, and editing, and lighting. I used beat sink on some of the shots but not all so it didn't become predictable and boring. I also had some actions happen to the beat of the song. When ending my film reel I chose a really bright outside shot full of warm colors, I chose to do so because it ends the reel on a positive note. I also only choose shots that were really cinematic to include in my film reel. Thats probably why my reel was shorter than a minute, but I plan to add a lot more work after the completion of my music video. I used three works in this film reel: Perfect Putty,  Levis Commercial, and Wimp. For the most part transitions between these pieces worked pretty well, but there are a few jarring cuts because of drastic lighting changes. One thing I would like to change next time I update my reel is the music, its spliced together in som...

Short Film

Pre-Production  For our script we chose wimp by Miles Todd. It is about a scrawny underdog who stands up to the school bully by arm wrestling him. This was a very comedic and cheesy script. We started off by finalizing the script. After that we made our storyboards, prop list and discussed all the shots we wanted to use. We then began looking for locations to film at. Unfortunately none of the schools we asked would let us film so we had to film at ONW.  We then found actors and coordinated with them to make a film schedule. Production  This part of the process did not go as smooth as we would have liked. After a couple days of filming we realized that our current script had to many actors and was too complicated. To fix this we all got together rewrote our script and essentially did the Pre-Production process again. After dong this the rest of filming went much better and we were able to finish on time. For hardware we used a 50 mm lens, tripod, and rhode mic. My ...
