Film Reel Blog

 For my film reel I tried to portray a teen lifestyle. It shows several teenagers in moments when they are thriving and when they are at a low. I really like this because it makes the reel more relatable to my fellow classmates. I also wanted it to really flow naturally to make it easy to watch so I didn't have any headers for my film clips and just let the shots speak for themselves. I also tried to edit my shots in a way that the movement flowed through each to make it feel even more smooth and collected.


 


I also tried to really showcase cinematography and good lighting in this reel. I used some of my best colored and lit shots from lowlight and daylight to show the variety I am capable of. I chose my most cinematically composed shots that show purposeful spacing and positioning of the subjects. I had my friend Cade Wait compose my music so it would fit perfectly with my reel and add some extra suspense. I was very picky with the shots I used so unfortunately my reel was a bit short but I will be updating it throughout the rest of the year. I also had a couple export issues so the quality of my reel isn't what I wanted it to be so I really need to figure that out and fix my premier for my next edit. Overall I am satisfied with my reel and i'm happy with how it turned out and look forward to updating it.

Logo Project

The Process  I started the process by filing pages in my sketch book with ruff and simple designs. I then narrowed it down to three designs, which I then made a final copy for each. I showed these three designs to Mr. Olsen, and he helped me to chose the best one. I took this design into Adobe Illustrator and started making the final design. I messed around with various angles, colors, and and shapes until I found what looked best for me. Decisions  I wanted a logo that was going to look very sharp and professional so decided to use a an abstract B with a lot of 45 degree angles. I also chose to use a square to contain my logo because it brings the design together and contains it well. I didn't want to use a lot bright colors because I wanted to stick to the simple and professional theme so I chose to us black and grey. Overall I'm very happy with the outcome of my logo.

Typography Project

Typography Project Overview  For our typography project we had to write our name in adobe illustrator and label the different parts. This project was meant to help us understand the different parts of text, and fonts, and it did a good at that. What we Learned   We leaned a variety of text vocabulary such as shoulder, counter, ear, bowl, and many more. It also helped us get more familiar with the program Adobe Illustrator. Overall it was a great learning experience. How Did it go Overall this was a great project that taught us a lot about typography, and Adobe illustrator. It was all so a very fun project, it was very interesting to see what our names were made out of. Overall this was a very fun and educational project.

News Story

I used the inverted pyramid by putting the most important info towards the top and extra info at the bottom. I also used the interview clips in a way that they seem more factual. I didn't really like writing a news piece a much as I thought I would. In my opinion a feature piece allows for  more freedom. I still need to work on staying away from opinions and making the piece more factual. What I would do the same next is put all the important information at the beginning. Overall I thought this was a good writing assignment to introduce us to News
