Quarter Reflection

4th Quarter Project 

For our end of the year project we had to create a product and a company. To go along with this we also had to make a website, commercial,
logo, animations, and advertisements. for our product we chose the Warp Watch, a watch that also you to travel through time to fix your mistakes. I learned a lot of stuff along the way such as imbedding logos into SketchUp, and how to change the CSS designs in dreamweaver. some feedback that we got was that our website was to bland, to fix that we went back and aded more shades of blue to the webpage. My opinion of my work work in quarter four is that I did a pretty good job of collaborating with my group, and coming up with ideas that we all liked. I also think this project has improved my time management and collaboration skills. 



How Did I Use My Time

Some of the activities I completed during my class time were the banner, the 3d design, and the scripts for our presentation. At times that i finished early I asked my team way that I could improve the project or make it better in anyway. We all critiqued our project as a group to find weak spots and improve. Outside of class I would finish up blogs, or touch up assignments to make sure I would never have any late work.



Strengths and Weaknesses 


Some of my strengths are graphic design and video editing. To maximize our strengths we assigned certain parts of the project to each other based on our skill levels. Some ares I need to improve in would be animation and web design.


Summary

What enjoyed most about this quarter was getting to collaborate with my team, and having the freedom to come up with our own product and have it be whatever we want. I learned a lot this quarter but mostly I learned how to be a good team member and collaborate with group members. A goal I would like to set for next year is to get better at animation and web design. Overall I thought this was a very good project to improve collaboration skills and great way to wrap up e9.

2020 Film Reel

My film reel is meant to portray teen life, adventure, and a little bit of conflict. I feel that this reel mainly showcases cinematography, and editing, and lighting. I used beat sink on some of the shots but not all so it didn't become predictable and boring. I also had some actions happen to the beat of the song. When ending my film reel I chose a really bright outside shot full of warm colors, I chose to do so because it ends the reel on a positive note. I also only choose shots that were really cinematic to include in my film reel. Thats probably why my reel was shorter than a minute, but I plan to add a lot more work after the completion of my music video. I used three works in this film reel: Perfect Putty,  Levis Commercial, and Wimp. For the most part transitions between these pieces worked pretty well, but there are a few jarring cuts because of drastic lighting changes. Short Film

Pre-Production  For our script we chose wimp by Miles Todd. It is about a scrawny underdog who stands up to the school bully by arm wrestling him. This was a very comedic and cheesy script. We started off by finalizing the script. After that we made our storyboards, prop list and discussed all the shots we wanted to use. We then began looking for locations to film at. Unfortunately none of the schools we asked would let us film so we had to film at ONW.  We then found actors and coordinated with them to make a film schedule. Production  This part of the process did not go as smooth as we would have liked. After a couple days of filming we realized that our current script had to many actors and was too complicated. To fix this we all got together rewrote our script and essentially did the Pre-Production process again. After dong this the rest of filming went much better and we were able to finish on time.
